Festool Pro 5 LTD Sander
Festool Pro 5 LTD Sander
Last September I had the opportunity to visit Festool headquarters in Stuttgart Germany where I tested some new and improved tools. At that time we were not able to share this information with you, but I can now! Say hello to the Festool Pro5 LTD Sander
Festool Believes You’ll See the Difference
Festool is hoping that noon-Festool tool owners will take this opportunity to try out this sander. The PRO 5 LTD is a 5″ random orbit sander. I absolutely think this will close the gap for new Festool users as well as Festool Fans. PRO5 LTD stands for “professional quality 5-inch sander limited version” and it is an IMPROVEMENT over the current 5″ sander, the ETS 125EQ.
Features
- 250 watt motor
- Improved sanding pad brake (with carbide inserts)
- Refined ergonomics with rubberized grip
- Oversized robust power switch
- Improved airflow (when used with dust extractors) allowing free pad movement (not affected as much by suction)
- New bayonet-style dust port design for a more secure connection
The sanders will also come with a 10 pack of abrasives from the Granat line featuring two sheets each of P80, P120, P150, P180, P220.
NOTE – The total quantity available is limited so this campaign will end at some point in time. It also comes in a blue Systainer instead of the traditional anthracite grey.

Bought one right away. Great performance over my former Porter-Cable, perhaps that’s obvious. My main comments about the Festy Pro 5 is what a brilliant marketing move it was. They correctly read the market that there are many out there (avid DIY’ers mostly, pros already buy-in) who desire next-level tools and importantly have the add’l income to afford the top end. The offer was great- crazy low, no-brainer pricing, v few build compromises, v gd performance, and a cool blue Systainer. Beyond that, making it a ltd quantity and ltd time offer made people take action, and of course the $50 credit for a next purchase burning a hole in our pockets. Many new people now in the Festy circle, and I expect many will be tempted to buy the next tool. Personally, as a price/performance shopper, most Festies don’t make the cut for me (although all of this intro’d me to the MFT which has blown my mind). Hmmm, maybe….
