DEWALT Introduces Cordless Metal Connector Nailer
DEWALT® Launches 20V MAX* XR® Cordless Metal Connector Nailer
The low-maintenance 20V MAX* Cordless Metal Connector Nailer (DCN693) is one-hundred percent battery-powered with no gas cartridge, no hose, and no compressor to maintain. With dual operating modes in both Sequential and Rapid Cycle, the Nailer allows the user to choose between sequential for standard operating speed or rapid cycle for faster operation. A tip probe ensures precise fastener placement while multi-functional LEDs provide added convenience.
The 20V MAX* Cordless Metal Connector Nailer (DCN693) offers tool-free depth adjustment, allowing users to adjust nail depth for different materials. A convenient speed selector switch can easily change from Speed 1 for operating 1-1/2″ or to Speed 2 for 2-1/2″ nails while a stall release lever helps to reset the driver blade in the case of a stall or jammed nail and an onboard hex key can be used to clear tool jams for magazine removal. Finally, a belt and rafter hook rotates to either side depending on user preference.
Primarily used by framing crews, remodelers, and deck builders, the Metal Connector Nailer is also popular with users who work in natural-disaster prone areas that are hit with earthquakes, derechos and hurricanes. This tool’s use has spread nation-wide as many building codes throughout North America now require metal connectors in wood-framed buildings.
The 20V MAX* Cordless Metal Connector Nailer (DCN693) uses DEWALT MCN Nails including the DMC13115HDG.5M, DMC14815B.5M, DMC14815HDG.5M, DMC14825HDG.5M, DMC16225HDG.5M, DWMC13115-2M, and DWMC13115G-2M. The 20V MAX* Cordless Metal Connector Nailer comes kitted (DCN693M1) and MSRP $549 with one 4.0Ah battery and charger. The 20V MAX* Cordless Metal Connector Nailer bare tool (DCN693B) MSRP $499. How do they come out with something as specialized as a metal connector nailer without coming out with a cordless roofing, siding, or 18ga finish nailer. I love their quality products but sometimes they keep me waiting too long and I venture off to other brands. Come on take all my money not just some of it.
Great question Chris. We quizzed them pretty hard at the Media event about a cordess roofer. The problem is house fast roofers shoot nailers…I’m sure they are trying to figure one out!
Newbie question: Since this nailer seems to be specifically for metal connectors, are you able to use it as a regular framing nailer? A framing nailer should not be used for metal connectors?
No sir….totally different nails.
