Milwaukee M12 Fuel Circular Saw Preview
Milwaukee M12 Fuel Circular Saw Preview
Last August the Tool Box Buzz team attended the Milwaukee Tool New Product Symposium where they showed off a number of new tools. The M18 tools dominated most of our coverage articles but one tool we shared over our social media channels was the M12 Fuel Circular Saw. It is a completely new tool to the M12 line much like the M12 Polisher.

First Impressions
I’m not going to lie, my first impression was that it looked like a toy. The sheer size of it is small. Knowing Milwaukee’s tag line of Nothing but Heavy Duty, I knew I would probably have my first impression blown away. The tool we viewed and used was still referred to as a prototype but seems pretty close to the final product. We got a chance to view the guts of the tool to see how it was put together. There is reinforcement in all the right places while still being mindful of the weight.
We only got to take a couple passes each through 1/2″ OSB but this tool is definitely heavy duty. Having the ability to cut through 2x materials makes this tool immensely useful on any job site. We can’t wait to get our hands on the M12 Fuel Circular Saw. It’s small, light, and powerful, it should prove to be very useful.
Milwaukee® M12 FUEL™ 5-3/8” Circular Saw is First of Its Kind
1/09/2015
MILWAUKEE, WI – Milwaukee Tool continues to expand its award-winning M12 FUEL™ offering with the introduction of the industry’s most powerful 12V Circular Saw.  With the ability to cut 2x dimensional lumber, Milwaukee has combined their exclusive POWERSTATE™ brushless motor, REDLITHIUM™ battery pack, and REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence to deliver a 12V Circular Saw that rivals 18V tools on the market today.
“In the past, 12V users would need to carry 18V or corded circular saws to complete cuts in the most frequently used jobsite materials,” said Tom Simeone, Director of Product Management for Milwaukee Tool. “Able to complete 170 cuts in 2×4, the M12 FUEL™ 5-3/8” Circular Saw provides performance and run time that is comparable to a much larger tool, at a fraction of the size and weight.”
The new circular saw was engineered to deliver powerful cutting capacity and is capable of cutting most frequently used jobsite materials, from sheet goods to 2x dimensional lumber. M12 FUEL™ products feature three Milwaukee®-exclusive innovations, the POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor, REDLITHIUM™ XC4.0 Battery Pack and REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence Hardware and Software, to deliver unmatched power, run-time and durability.
The POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor works harder, lives longer, and converts energy into power more efficiently, giving the M12 FUEL™ 5-3/8” Circular Saw the ability to deliver the power and speed needed to minimize bogging down during applications, while completing cuts other 12V saws cannot. The motor is also completely designed, engineered and built by Milwaukee Tool to deliver years of maintenance-free performance with no wearable components, no losses due to vibration and less heat build-up.
REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence hardware and software is the most advanced electronic system on the market. It integrates full-circle communication between tool, battery and charger to protect them from overloading, overheating, and over-discharging. These protections help maintain ideal conditions for maximum application performance.
Milwaukee REDLITHIUM™ XC4.0 batteries provide up to 2X more run-time and recharges than standard lithium-ion batteries and will provide more work per charge, and more work over the life of the pack than competitive batteries. With Milwaukee® durability built into each pack, the REDLITHIUM™ XC4.0 battery operates cooler and performs in climates below 0°F/-18°C with fade free power. A battery fuel gauge also displays remaining charge for less down time on the job.
The M12 FUEL™ 5-3/8” Circular Saw also lives up to Milwaukee’s legendary durability with a cast aluminum construction and all-aluminum shoe and guards.
Available in February of 2015, the new M12 FUEL™ 5-3/8” Circular Saw is a true testament to Milwaukee’s focus on the user and investment in game-changing technology. For more information on M12 FUEL™, please visit http://www.milwaukeetool.com/
