I’m sure you’re thinking a shovel is a shovel right? Well as with most things in life you get what you pay for and some companies are producing some really good quality products. I’ve spent the summer trying some great new products from Razor-Back including their Round Point SuperSocket Shovel with Wood Handle and I’ve been very impressed with it’s quality and value.

Razor-Back SuperSocket ShovelFor me it’s important to purchase really good quality lawn and garden tools for several reasons.

  • First and foremost is investing in tools that will last for years. The Razor-Back SuperSocket Shovel has a very solid wood handle, heavy gauge metal, and a very comfortable grip.
  • I also believe in buying quality tools that make the task at hand easier and quicker to accomplish. The large socket gives the shovel more strength especially for prying forces.

The feature that stands out most to me is their SuperSocket design. The “socket” that holds the wood handle is about 5 inches longer than traditional spade shovels. The longer length adds considerable strength especially in prying applications like digging in compacted soil. The shovel blade is very strong and offers a comfortable “step” that allows the user to get more power and comfort when stepping on the shovel to dig in tough soil conditions.

The bottom line is the Razor-Back SuperSocket Shovel is a “PRO” grade tool designed to last and out-perform traditionally designed shovels. From the minute I picked this shovel up I could tell it was a quality tool based on it’s weight and design. Priced between $24.99 and $29.99 it’s an exceptional value.
