First Impression
The Makita Work Light is self-righting light. Meaning that if it gets bumped it will wobble and self-right itself. The Makita light will lay on its side if placed there for storage or perhaps knocked-over just right. This self-righting feature provides for a very stable job site light.
This LED light provides up to 5,500 lumens. Three light settings provide the user with the ability to direct light where needed:
- 360 degree setting for full illumination
- 180 degrees to the left
- 180 degreed to the right

Power and Runtime
This light offers corded and cordless operation. It can also be operated with a cord and AC power. In addition, the AC inlet and outlet can be used for chaining multiple upright lights together.
For cordless, this light will work with one or two 18 volt batteries. The light used one battery at a time, in sequence. Using two 18V LXT 5.0Ah batteries the light will provide up to 15 hours of continuous illumination on the low setting and over 3 hours on high.

The Makita Work Light has an IP54 rating when powered by a battery. These protections provide dust and water-resistant construction.

One of the best features of this new LED work light is that the LED light does not put off the heat that a Halogen bulb does, therefore eliminating those accidental touch burns and scary fire risks. All of which equates to a safer work site.
Did you know that Halogen bulbs release most of the energy they use as heat, rather than light? For every 100 watts you put in, you get about 3.5 watts of light and 96.5 watts of heat. That’s hot and dangerous!
