PORTER-CABLE® Launches Corded and Cordless Oscillating Tools with Tool Free System
Back in January I spotted the new line of Porter-Cable Oscillating Tools with the Tool Free System at the International Builder’s Show. I’m happy to say that the tools have now been officially announced with both a corded and cordless version about to hit stores.
I’m even happier to report that we just received a sample of the corded version to test which we will report back in several weeks after we put it to the test.

Corded Model – PC250MTK
The PC250MTK 36-Piece Corded Oscillating Multi-Tool Kit utilizes PORTER-CABLE’S groundbreaking Tool Free System and includes over $150 in accessories** that allow contractors to cut, sand, grind, and scrape. The PC250MTK runs on 120V electrical power and delivers 10,000–20,000 oscillations per minute (OPM) by way of a high-torque 2.5 AMP motor that can handle almost any jobsite application. The variable speed unit has an oscillation angle of 2.8 degrees and comes equipped with a 10-foot cord for easy jobsite maneuverability. The PC250MTK features a durable injection-molded kit box to help keep the tool and accessories organized and protected on and around the jobsite.
Available in May 2011 at Lowe’s, Amazon.com and other fine retailers, the PC250MTK will retail for approximately $149. The PC250MTK 2.5 Amp Corded Oscillating Multi-Tool Kit will include 35 assorted accessories and an injection molded kit box.
Cordless Model – PCL120MTC-2
Joining PORTER-CABLE’s current 12 Volt MAX* lineup, the PCL120MTC-2 32-Piece Lithium Oscillating Multi-Tool Kit also utilizes PORTER-CABLE’s Tool Free System and includes over $135 in accessories** that allow contractors to cut, sand, grind, and scrape. The PCL120MTC-2 features an oscillation angle of 2.8 degrees and a variable-speed dial that helps provide outstanding control while delivering 7,500-15,000 OPM. At 2.2 pounds, the tool is compact, lightweight and features an ergonomic handle for a comfortable grip. In addition, an LED work light provides visibility.
Available in May 2011 through Lowe’s, the independent channel and Amazon.com, the 12 Volt MAX* Lithium Oscillating Multi-Tool Kit is expected to retail for approximately $159. The cordless oscillating tool kit will come with two PCL12BLX Lithium Ion batteries, one PCL12C 30-minute charger, soft-sided storage case, 31 assorted accessories and an accessories case. By taking 30 minutes to fully charge, the 12 Volt MAX* Lithium Ion batteries help to reduce downtime for productivity on the jobsite.
